Dental Fillings
Broadwater Dental offers modern composite or “white” fillings that give a brilliant new look for both anterior and posterior teeth. Due to the bonding properties of composite fillings, less of the sound tooth structure needs to be removed to make way for the filling, so this does not weaken the tooth as much as other types of fillings and reduces the chance of later fracture.
Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns are laboratory-made tooth restorations, used to surround a weakened tooth to protect it from fracturing any further. Crowns are usually recommended in the following situations: root treated teeth, heavily restored teeth and can also be used to improve the cosmetics of teeth, matching the shape and colour of the existing teeth.
Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. The adjacent teeth are prepared for crowns. The laboratory-made bridge is manufactured in one piece and is cemented onto the prepared adjacent teeth.
Dental Implants
In most cases, dental implants are the optimal treatment to replace either single or multiple missing teeth. They protect your bite and muscle function from the possible movement of the remaining teeth. Implants also provide a functional and aesthetic solution to people with failing crowns or bridges and patients with loose or painful dentures.
Dentures
Dentures are certainly a cost-effective and aesthetically pleasing treatment, to maintain the stability of the mouth and improve chewing function. Dentures can be partial, replacing several missing teeth, or complete, replacing all the teeth. Patients with complete dentures may need the use of implants to improve the stability.
